A great way to start a tour in Korea is a casual stroll the traditional markets. These are food stalls where we get down and medieval with the country’s favorite street food of the past, present and experimental. Aisles and aisles full of street carts, we’ll stuff our faces from chicken skewers (easy) to pig feet (difficult) all the way to the exotic and unheard of. Immediately you will notice our guides nostalgia and uncontrollable mouth watering as they start to become more passionate about this part of the tour.
And no matter what country you visit, a walk through of that country’s grocery store will always give you an invaluable lesson about food in that country. Seeing what’s on the shelves will tell you how different, or even how similar we all are. In Korea, you get something more. A lot more! Our grocery stores are like Albertson’s on steroids. It’s in-your-face action with purveyors doing anything to tantalize your taste buds. Free samples? You’ll get a sample of just about everything here from fruits and steaks to something we’ll have to explain to you in great detail.
